Eggbert Bunny
Eggbert went to the rainbow bridge on September 9, 2001. He is missed every day. When I was in kindergarten, I memorized a poem for Easter that starts like this:
And around Easter time he was in the habit
Of delivering eggs from door to door
So, people called him Egg and nothing more.
That's all that I remember of the poem but when I got a white angora rabbit, I couldn't resist naming him after the rabbit in the poem. Eggy is a french/english mix angora. His eyes are of different color - one brown, one blue. He loved to chase his "kitty toys" (the cats). Rabbits make wonderful pets but require special care (see House Rabbit Society). For example, because they are chewers, all electrical cords must be covered and magazines and books must be out of reach. Rabbits need plenty of hay. In addition, angoras require regular brushings. Each rabbit is different but many have Attitude and are very intelligent. As a cat person, I find rabbits to be similar in that they are loving but maintain their independence.

Lucifer
Luci went to the rainbow bridge in August 2000.
His name is deceiving as Luci was a very sweet rabbit. He has red fur and was to be named Lucy if he were a girl. He and Eggy have the same father, Vivian, who was a red rabbit from Virginia. I bought both rabbits from Countrywool, Eggy as a baby and Luci when he was two years old. Luci was a stud bunny at Countrywool but he passed on his hyperactive nature to his kids, which is desirable in pets but not in breeding stock. He has wonderful fur - I save his and Eggy's fur to be spun and then knit into wonderfully warm items like mittens and hats.
